Jamie Spears Suspended as Britney Spears’ Conservator
Britney Spears is slowly inching her way towards freedom. After her court hearing on Wednesday, Judge Brenda Penny granted Britney’s legal team petition to suspended Britney’s father, Jamie Spears as conservator of her 60 million dollar estate, agreeing that having James as conservator is “untenable” and “toxic.”

“I do believe that the suspension of Jamie Spears is in the best interest of the conservatee, Britney Spears. The current situation is untenable,” Penny said after hearing arguments from both sides. “It reflects a toxic environment which requires the suspension of James Spears.”

Penny set another court hearing on November 12 to follow up to consider a full termination of Jamie as conservator. In the meantime, John Zabel will take over her finances, against Jamie’s wishes. The suspension began immediately. As part of the ruling, Jamie handed over all of the records to the new temporary conservator.
I just wanna give a collective congratulations to Britney Spears for fighting so hard to get where she is today, so so close to freedom and to us for being so persistent in helping one of our favourite people get out from being trafficked. Its been amazing and I can’t believe it

Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, believes that the records will show misconduct on Jamie’s behalf. Rosengart said that “The attorney-client communications between Mr. Spears on the one hand, and his lawyers on the other, I believe, will reveal corruption in that regard, and that’s something that we look forward to vigorously looking into.”

Furthermore, Rosengart added that Britney is back in control of her career. “Her future, in terms of if and when she performs again is that decision that Britney and only Britney can make. And that’s an important point, because for so long, for so long, decisions were made for her. That’s a decision that she and only she will make. And that’s the way it will be going forward.”

Back in June, Britney broke her silence about the conservatorship in a court hearing. The “Womanizer” singer claimed abuse, where she was unhappy, traumatized, and was unable to make her own choices.
Spears said, “I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m OK and I’m happy. If I said that enough, maybe I’d become happy I’m in shock. I’m traumatized, I’m so angry it’s insane. It’s not OK to force me to do anything I want to do I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I don’t feel like I can live a full life.”
“A lot has happened since two years ago, the last time I was in court,” the pop singer recalled, claiming she was forced to do a tour while changing a medication. “I don’t think I was heard on any level when I came to court last time. Not only did my family not do a goddamn thing, my dad was all for it.”
Britney wanted all her statements to be public, stating “They’ve done a good job exploiting my life. So, I feel like it should be an open court hearing and they should. It’s not OK to force me to do anything I want to do I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I don’t feel like I can live a full life.
Britney was placed under a conservatorship in 2008 after suffering a mental breakdown the year prior. From there, Jamie “controlled her spending, communications, and personal decisions.” Thankfully, the thirteen years of abuse are slowly coming to an end.
Britney celebrated her victory by vacationing with her fiancé, Sam Asghari. From being able to choose her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, to Jamie agreeing to resign, the pop star is making strides towards freedom. A court hearing for Jamie’s termination as conservator and an investigation of his involvement in Britney’s estate is set on November 12.
