It’s not a bunch of hocus pocus. The highly anticipated 90’s sequel Hocus Pocus 2 has finally begun filming. The new upcoming sequel takes place in Rhode Island, which differs from Salem, MA, the original setting that the iconic 1993 Halloween film was shot at.

Hocus Pocus 2 will be slightly different from the original cult classic where three young women accidentally wind up summoning the Sanderson sisters.

Furthermore, the black flame candle has been lit; now the wickedly entertaining and child-hungry sisters are back with returning faces, including Bette Midler (Winifred Sanderson), Kathy Najimy (Mary Sanderson), and Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah Sanderson).

Joining the sisters will be Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl), Froy Gutierrez (Cruel Summer), and Lilia Buckingham (Zoe Valentine).

Directed by Anne Fletcher, the spookily delicious film began production at the La Salle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island, on October 18, 2021. In addition, production will continue until the end of the year.

Hocus Pocus 2 will debut on Disney+ in the Fall of 2022. Fans who would like to stay updated should follow the official Twitter account.
