Megan Thee Stallion graces the cover of Glamour’s 2021 Woman of the Year issue following a whirlwind last few months. She shared how she uses her voice as a powerful Black woman to inspire a generation of young girls everywhere. Of course, the Texas-born rapper brought out all the looks for the cover shoot (she’s a Hot Girl, after all).

Above all else, Megan expressed a sense of self-empowerment. At 26 years old, she’s had multiple chart-topping tracks (“Savage”) and became the second female rapper to take home a Grammy for the best new artist. This summer, Megan also appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated and performed a killer set on Saturday Night Live. But with all her success, she makes it clear she does it for no one but herself.

“I’m not looking at y’all when I wake up in the morning,” Megan told Glamour, “I’m not looking at you in the mirror. I have to do things that make me feel good from the inside out.”

Behind the scenes, Megan is undergoing even greater achievements. In 2013, she enrolled in college hoping to pursue business but soon developed the well-known persona, Megan Thee Stallion. Though went in a different direction, focusing on her music career.

But soon, she will graduate from Texas Southern with a degree in health administration. That’s right, on top of else the “Hot Girl Summer” artist is set to become a college graduate. The best part is, Megan knows her worth when she achieves these things.

“It seems like I can never satisfy everybody,” she stated. “So then I started being like, ‘What do I like?’ I’m an only child, so I had a lot of time to spend by myself to think about it. I’m here by myself all day; what we gon’ do, Megan? That’s how I figured out I really do enjoy writing music. I love writing stories. I started living life for me.”

Along with her powerful words, Glamour’s profile included stunning shots of the rapper. The looks range from draping white gowns to black cut-out dresses. But that’s just one part of Megan’s image, which as the interview showcases, is not going away any time soon.

“The sky not even the limit,” Megan concluded in the profile, “It can go past that.”
