Nina Dobrev Cast in New Action-Thriller The Bricklayer
Nina Dobrev is the newest cast member of the new action-thriller, The Bricklayer. The Vampire Diaries alumni, 33, will be joining The Dark Knight actor Aaron Eckhart in this new film. The actress showed her excitement on Instagram, captioned: “Hey Siri, remind me to pack me for Europe.”
The Bricklayer follows an ex- CIA operative who is being blackmailed and framed by an unknown person. The person is having foreign journalists murdered and painting out the agency responsible. As different countries start turning against the United States, it’s up to the former agent to catch and reveal the identity of the mysterious culprit while uncovering an international mystery and facing his inner turmoil.

Gerald Butler and Millennium Media have teamed up to produce the movie. Renny Harlin is serving as the director. Hanna Weg and Matt Johnson are writing the script. The producers include Alan Siegel, Danielle Robinson, Heidi Jo Markel, Jeffrey Greenstein, Les Weldon, Jonathan Yunger, Yariv Lerner, and Rob Van Norden. Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, and Tanner Mobley serve as executive producers.

Dobrev has worked on several projects. She is mainly known for her roles as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce in The Vampire Diaries. Before The Vampire Diaries, Dobrev played teen mom turned model Mia Jones in Degrassi: The Next Generation. Mia was a reoccurring character in season 6 and became a regular in seasons 7 and 8. Since then, Dobrev has branched off and starred in different movies, such as XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Love Hard, and Redeeming Love.
So far, there is no release date or additional information for The Bricklayer except that it will begin production next month in Europe. While waiting for more details, fans can stream The Vampire Diaries and Love Hard on Netflix, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and XXX: Return of Xander Cage on Amazon Prime.
