Named The Outset, Johansson’s skincare line has actually been in the works for some time. During her Zoom interview with GMA last year, the Black Widow star revealed that she’s been building her brand for the past three years.

“It’s been a labor of love,” she stated. “But I’m so excited to share that with the world.”

Johansson’s decision to create her own skincare products was influenced by years of experience in the beauty industry. But after representing renowned brands like L’oreal Paris and Dolce & Gabbana, the 37-year-old actress discovered that her true calling lies elsewhere.

“I’ve been the face of several luxury brands throughout my career, and all of those experiences were really wonderful,” she told Vogue in the March 2022 issue. “But—how do I put this? I guess I always felt like I was sort of playing a character in those campaigns, and as I evolved, I wanted to create and represent a brand that was true to me.”

With more than 30,000 followers on Instagram already, it’s safe to say fans are more than ready for The Outset essentials to drop. “TAKE ALL MY MONEY,” an enthusiastic user commented on one of the brand’s posts. “No, Scarlett stans are not okay,” another added.

Even Saturday Night Live star and husband Colin Jost had something to say. In response to a post on her new brand’s Instagram featuring Johansson’s profile he commented, “Is this the best way to contact you? “I’m starting a similar brand called ‘Part of a Face’ and would love to use this photo. Thanks.”

While The Outset’s product lineup remains unknown, we know there is a significant emphasis on clean, minimal ingredients based on Johansson’s statement to Allure. What that entails for the brand, only time will tell.

Until then, check out The Outset’s website and prepare yourselves for the celeb skincare drop of the year.
