On Friday, Florence Pugh attended a Valentino runway show in Rome, Italy wearing a pink tulle halter-neckline gown that exposed her nipples.

Though many fans loved the look, she received negative messages about her dress and body; mostly about her “flat chest”.

The Black Widow star went to Instagram on Sunday to respond to the backlash. “I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it,” Pugh writes. “What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see.”

The 26-year-old British actress also wrote about how she has finally come to terms with her body, as well as how grateful she is for growing up surrounded by strong and powerful women with curves.

“Grow up. Respect people. Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect humans,” Pugh writes to her critics. “All because of two cute little nipples….”

Fans and other actors flooded the actress with love and support under her Instagram comments. Crazy Rich AsiansGemma Chan commented “Love you” with a red heart, while West Side Story’s Ariana DeBose commented “RESPECT. Period.” with a pink heart. As of now, the post has over 1.8 million likes.

At Glitter, we stand with Florence Pugh and all women. Women should be able to wear whatever they please and not be judged or attacked by anyone, especially men.
