Nominations for This Year’s HCA TV Awards: Streaming Are Here
On July 7, the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) announced its list of nominees for the 2nd Annual HCA TV Awards.
The announcement for the Streaming categories was made a few hours after the Broadcast Network & Cable nominations were released. Alongside HCA members Kiyra Lynn and Landon Johnson, nominees for the Streaming portion were announced on the HCA’s YouTube channel by This Is Us’s Chrissy Metz and Susan Kelechi Watson.
Both Apple TV+ series Severance and Ted Lasso received 12 nominations each, which placed them first with the most nominations. The two series received nominations in Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Directing, and Best Writing in the drama and comedy categories respectively.
The fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, and Hulu’s limited series Dopesick tied for second place with a total of nine nominations each. Many fans celebrated these shows’ HCA nominations on social media.

The popular Korean thriller Squid Game (Netflix) earned a total of seven nominations, while The Afterparty (Apple TV), The Dropout and Under the Banner of Heaven (Hulu), Hacks (HBO Max), and Loki (Disney+) all earned six nominations each.
A complete list of the Streaming nominees can be found below. The winners will be announced on night two of the HCA TV Awards, which will take place on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at The Beverly Hilton. The HCA TV Awards: Streaming can be watched live on HCA’s YouTube channel.
