Ariana Grande Sports New Blonde Hair for Wicked Role
Ariana Grande has undergone a stunning blonde hair transformation for her role as Glinda The Good Witch in Jon M. Chu’s Wicked adaptation.
The Positions singer sent fans into a frenzy when she took to Instagram on October 26 to debut a hair change. The pop star did not address the transformation, but instead playfully wrote, “new earrings.” While we love her pearl earrings, her new signature blonde ponytail is as stunning as ever.
Grande’s Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, responded to the “POV” singer, writing, “Earrings are AMAZING!!” The Pinocchio actress ended her comment with a green heart emoji, giving homage to her role as the green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West.
In addition to Erivo’s response, Jon M. Chu, who will be directing the picture, also joined in the fun captioning, “Earrings look great!”
Erivo and Grande were revealed to be joining the Wicked adaptation in November of 2021. The artist has been a long-time fan of the Broadway show. She expressed her love for Glinda in a 2011 Tweet describing the character as “her dream role.” She also received the seal of approval from Kristin Chenoweth, who previously portrayed Glinda on Broadway.
The role of Glinda is very important to Grande. After fans hoped that she would release a new album following Positions, she explained that new music will be on hold. She reveals, “And that is going to have every piece of me, every minute, every ounce of my heart, my time, my soul, my everything that I can give it, so my hands are quite full with a lot of other thrillifying work at the moment.”
