Bad Gal Riri Makes an Epic Return With New Song ‘Lift Me Up’
Bad Gal Riri blessed fans with a new solo single for the first time in six years. It will be featured in the upcoming Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Rihanna’s undeniable discography of hits solidified her place as a pop princess for decades. She has become one of the most significant artists of our generation with songs like “Pon De Replay,” “Diamonds,” “Love On The Brain,” and more. However, RiRi took a hiatus from music in 2017 to build her fashion/beauty empire, leaving music fans disheartened. Thankfully, on October 28, her long-awaited return to music sent fans into a frenzy. Writing credits on this beautifully haunting ballad included Ludwig Goransson, Robyn Fenty (of course), Temilade Openiyi (aka Tems), and director Ryan Coogler.
Lift Me Up is looking like a worldwide hit. Y’all better find a way to dance to it because I will be requesting it at the clubs

On the same day, a music video featuring visuals from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released on YouTube. In her natural Piscean element, Rihanna gave us beautiful beach views to accompany her equally angelic vocals. In addition, Marvel fans gained sneak peek clips of the upcoming film, including scenes with lead actors Angela Basset, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, and Lupita Nyong’o.
The Oscar-winning 2018 Black Panther film told the story of Wakanda, an advanced nation under the rule of king T’challa (Chadwick Boseman). Unfortunately, Boseman’s untimely death in 2020 left fans shattered and questioning if the series could continue without its leading star. Miraculously, Marvel, the remaining cast, and Coogler have pulled through to continue the legendary legacy Boseman helped shape in the upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
According to iHeartRadio, Rihanna’s new single “Lift Me Up” will also serve as a tribute to this legacy. It is part of the film’s soundtrack, and filmgoers can anticipate this hit as part of the beginning and end credits.
