Netflix released season 2 of the series on May 8, 2020. The network renewed the series for a third and final season in July of the same year. Production for the third season was delayed into 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Shortly after resuming, production halted again after Christina Applegate’s Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in August 2021. Since her diagnosis, the actress has received treatment and returned to the series to complete the final season.
In a recent interview with the New York Times, the Emmy-nominated actress expressed how she felt ahead of the third season’s release. Applegate stated, “This is the first time anyone’s going to see me the way I am.” As she returns to the public eye, she claims, “I put on 40 pounds; I can’t walk without a cane. I want people to know that I am very aware of all of that.”
