Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell Talk Film Bones and All in Stunning New Photoshoot
As we anxiously await Luca Guadagnino’s cannibal romance film Bones and All, Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell grace the latest cover of Variety with the film’s director.
After sending fans into a frenzy this past August with the Bones and All trailer, Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell took it one step further with their bold fashion statements at the Venice Film Festival. As a result, the film was granted a whopping ten-minute long standing ovation. On the red carpet, Chalamet wore a custom red Haider Ackermann backless outfit with Cartier jewelry. Russell opted for an iconic green Balenciaga Couture dress.

Bones and All is based on the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis. David Kajganich (Suspiria), a frequent collaborator of Guadagnino’s, penned the script. Bones and All “follows cannibal lovers Maren (Taylor Russell) and Lee (Chalamet) as they road trip across America.”
The actors discussed what initially drew them to the project. Chalamet worked with Guadagnino in the 2017 film Call Me By Your Name, which earned the actor his first Oscar nomination. He states of boarding the film, “It excited me, because it felt like it was very different than the first project we had done together.” He adds, “It excited me, too, because I felt the bones of Lee — no pun intended — were there, but there was a lack of direction.”
His co-star, Taylor Russell, reveals of her character, Maren, “What struck me about her initially is that she’s this kind of creature who feels like there’s something off with her, like a picture frame that’s slanted. And I wanted to work through that exercise of ‘If there is something inherently wrong with me, is there a way to break through that?’”
The Chalamet x Russell pairing in the film is a “fairy tale,” according to Guadagnino. He states, “It’s about two young people — a girl, in particular — roaming this world of darkness and dealing with the challenges within and without, finding love in the gaze of one another and trying to overcome impossibility.”
We have loved every moment of the Bones and All press tour. From the glamourous outfits to the stunning photoshoots, Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell promise to deliver an incredible film. Bones and All arrives in theaters on November 23. The trailer is available to watch below.
