Celine Dion has announced that she will cancel upcoming dates for her 2023 tour after receiving a rare neurological diagnosis.

Dion has had to postpone several dates for her Courage World Tour following her diagnosis of a neurological disease. The musician revealed the news in an emotional video posted to her social media. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer had to cancel the North American leg of her tour in January due to health concerns as well. Now, she has canceled her summer 2023 dates and rescheduled her spring 2023 dates to 2024.

Dion captioned the video, “I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through…It hurts me to tell you that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.” The 54-year-old singer stated that she is suffering from Stiff-Person Syndrome which only affects “something like one in a million people.”

Dion went on to add how the syndrome causes spasms that impact her daily life and singing. Before announcing the cancellation of the tour, she explained, “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to.”

She also emotionally added that she misses her fans greatly, and singing is “all she knows,” but her condition “is not allowing her to do that right now.” The Grammy winner described how she is working with specialists and a medical team to create a treatment plan for the disease. Fellow celebrities and musicians have voiced their support for Celine in her Instagram comments. Kate Hudson commented “Love you Celine” and Gwen Stefani wrote, “we love u Celine gx.”

The video ended with Dion tearfully admitting that she “hopes to see you real soon” and explaining that she loves her fans. There has been no more information on future Courage World Tour scheduling. Fans can find the current tour schedule and announcements on Celine Dion’s official website
