Zendaya has reportedly negotiated a new contract with HBO for Euphoria that would make her one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood.

The 26-year-old actress will allegedly earn upwards of $1 million per episode of Euphoria. While the series features a young cast of talented performers, there is no denying that Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett, is the show’s beating heart. From the pilot, the main story follows her character’s journey through adolescence, drug addiction, and personal relationships. Given the series’ popularity and acclaim, it is no wonder the actress’ salary has increased.

Many of the star’s fans took to social media to celebrate the star’s new contract deal.

Since its premiere in 2019, Euphoria has been a runaway hit. Adapted from the Israeli series of the same name, the show follows a group of teenagers through their tumultuous lives. Alongside Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Sydney Sweeney are some of the performers who help round out the cast. The series has been immensely popular- even causing HBO’s streaming service, HBO Max, to crash on various occasions ahead of its episodic premieres.

For her performance in the show’s first season, Zendaya, 24 at the time, became the youngest winner of the Outstanding Lead Actress award at the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards. Her winning streak continued following the second season, where she won the award again at the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards- making her the first Black actress to receive the honor twice. In 2023, she earned the Golden Globe award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama.

While performing on Euphoria, the megastar has regularly appeared on the silver screen. Her feature film debut began with Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), where she starred as MJ. Since her first appearance, she returned to portray the character in Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Other notable roles include her voicing of Lola Bunny in Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021) and her portrayal of Chani in Dune (2021). She is set to star in Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers (2023) and reprise her role as Chani in Dune: Part Two (2023).

Given her lengthy filmography, it is no surprise that she would begin earning more for her role in Euphoria. While the hit series’ return information has not been disclosed yet, fans can rewatch the show in all its glory on HBO Max. And for more information regarding all things Zendaya, click here
