Rebel Wilson Reveals Her First Impression of Meghan Markle
Rebel Wilson shaded Meghan Markle during a recent interview on Watch What Happens Live. The actress’s recollection of her encounter with both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has sparked a discussion across the internet.
Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, The Hustle, Senior Year) recalled meeting Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in a recent interview. The star shared that she met the couple in Santa Barbra, but took away different ideas about each of them. Wilson deemed Prince Harry to be “lovely,” but claimed “Meghan was not as cool. She wasn’t as naturally warm.”
Although, the actress did admit that her mother was asking Markle some “slightly rude” and presumably invasive questions. One of which being “Where are your kids?” The actress did confess that she told her mom not to ask that, but the damage may have already been done. Wilson joked that “Maybe that’s why [Meghan] was like, ‘Who are these annoying convicts from Australia?’”
The responses to this situation have been relatively mixed. After Wilson made the comment about Markle not being as “naturally warm” claps could be heard from the audience. People online also responded to the clip speculating about Markle’s character, with one user writing “No, Meg’s just not a nice person unless you can do something for her.”
The internet, however, largely disagreed with the shade Wilson dealt Markle. They found it strange that the actress expected Markle to be “naturally warm” after being subjected to rude comments. The discussion has taken shape across platforms, with one Reddit user commenting, “I bet that’s not the only ‘slightly rude’ question her mom asked. These people are all so entitled.”

There’s a lot to unpick here but let’s start off with the fact that you can’t expect someone to be welcoming when you are rude to them.
After Markle’s harassment by the British press and a lot of the internet, many have come to her defense over issues like this. Many believe that the critiques against Markle have been emphasized due to her race and gender. Despite those who support Markle, however, the hate for her is unfortunately still apparent.
