Controversy has struck once again with North West and her TikTok account. The daughter of controversial rapper Kanye West and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian dressed up as the drill artist Ice Spice after she visited Kim and North over the weekend.

North West dressed as Ice Spice to celebrate “Heroes And Heritage Day” at her school. Masika, a reality TV personality, has explained that “Students are invited to participate in a spirit-wear day inspired by February’s Black History Month, March’s Women’s History Month, and World Languages Week…Students are encouraged to dress in clothing celebrating their heroes or heritage.”

In the TikTok video, which was posted on Monday, March 6, North was clad with a curly orange Afro and an Ice Spice chain. Along with a friend, they lip-synched to a remix of Ice Spice’s song “In Ha Mood.”

While some people are viewing the video innocently and think that it is okay that North wants to copy the people that she looks up to, other people do not feel the same way. Some people have looked back at old rants that Kanye has gone on. In a reposted clip, Kanye states, “Father, I know y’all don’t respect fathers, and the idea of family and the media tries to promote something. I said I am not allowing my daughter to be used by TikTok to be used by Disney. I have a say so.”

About a year ago, Kanye also criticized Kim Kardashian for allowing North to be on TikTok, wear dark-colored makeup, and sing to the words of the song “Emo Girl” by Machine Gun Kelly and Willow. Some critics have been hitting out at Kim Kardashian for letting North have a TikTok account at such a young age, especially for lip-synching the words to a lyrically explicit song.
