Reportedly, Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, is working on the Met Gala guest list and plans not to invite any of the Kardashian and Jenner sisters.

In recent news, the infamous Met Gala will become even more exclusive. According to sources, “Anna Wintour is cracking down on the guest list at the annual fashion fête.” Sources went on to state “that no Kardashians will make the cut.”

The annual museum charity event began in 1948. Every year, there is a new theme, and those who attend are to dress accordingly and flawlessly. Originally held to fundraise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, Wintour has turned it into fashion’s biggest night out. Since 1995, Wintour has organized and presided over the annual museum charity event. Among her many things to oversee, the guest list is one of them.

When the event is held, it causes a social media frenzy; many people take to Twitter to celebrate and share their thoughts about what attendees wear.

Past attendees include, but are not limited to, Rihanna, Blake Lively, Lady Gaga, and members of the Kardashian/Jenner family. These celebrities are known for turning out unforgettable fashion moments. In 2013, Kim Kardashian attended the gala for the first time and has since made regular appearances, with her sisters making sporadic appearances over the years. In particular, Kim has maintained a consistent working relationship with Vogue, regularly appearing on the magazine’s covers and Youtube channel. This makes the recent news even more surprising.

Another source reported that the rumors are untrue and that the family has not been disinvited. Either way, we will only know who was invited to the Met Gala when the event takes place on May 1. Whoever will attend will have to live up to the anticipated expectations. The theme for the upcoming gala is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” and will honor the late fashion designer’s contributions to the industry. Co-chairing the event include Wintour, Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, and Dua Lipa.
