Watch Rina Sawayama Perform at Elton John’s Latest Oscars Party
Sir Elton John held his annual AIDS Foundation Charity Party on March 12. British-Japanese singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama was the entertainer of the night.
The “Rocketman” singer celebrated his thirty-first annual Oscars viewing party. The Elton John AIDS Foundation launched in 1992 with a life-long mission to “prevent infections, fight stigma, and provide treatment with love, compassion, and dignity for the most vulnerable groups affected by HIV around the world.”
Although a star-studded event, John expressed his gratitude for the people who continue to support his organization every year. He states, “The money helps the AIDS foundation, and we see the same people here every year. And they’re very strong supporters, loyal supporters. I think Tim Allen has been here every year we’ve done this. I think people come, and they leave in the afterglow, and they think they’ve done something really good.”
The event featured appearances by Tim Allen, Maren Morris, Patricia Arquette, Donatella Versace, Fan Bingbing, Wiz Khalifa, Saweetie, Heidi Klum, Dove Cameron, Hilary Duff, Christina Hendricks, Brooke Shields, Kesha, Tyga, Sharon Osbourne, Sophia Bush, Maggie Rogers, Troye Sivan, Jenna Dewan, Julianne Hough, Smokey Robinson, Karen Pittman, MJ Rodriguez, Simona Tabasco, and Michael Imperioli to name a few.
Rina Sawayama took the stage to perform “This H*ll” and “Catch Me In The Air,” two songs off her latest album, Hold the Girl. Sawayama and John would later perform their “Chosen Family” duet.
