Pugh is currently promoting her film, A Good Person. She embodies the role of Allison, who struggles with addiction and insurmountable grief. She stars opposite Morgan Freeman (The Ritual Killer), Molly Shannon (Bob’s Burgers), Alex Wolff (Old), and Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife).
The Midsommar actress took to Instagram to unveil her two songs: “The Best Part” and “I Hate Myself.” She began her post by thanking her fans for their words of encouragement and love for her performance as both an actress and singer.
She revealed that it was a “crazy” feeling to see her name appear on Apple Music and Spotify. Pugh adds that this was “Something I’ve really wanted to do for such a long time and I’m so lucky and eternally grateful to have had the opportunity to write them for our movie.”
In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s This Cultural Life, Pugh opened up about creating music. She states, “I would have put money on being a singer-songwriter way before being an actor. To me, being an actor was so far away. I knew I could do it, but I didn’t know how to get there, whereas me with my guitar being recorded and going on YouTube, performing on stage and doing gigs, was way more accessible.”
Pugh began posting covers on YouTube under the pseudonym Flossie Rose. She reimagined tracks such as “Wonderwall” and “Make You Feel My Love,” among many other incredible songs.
Congratulations to Florence Pugh on her film and music for A Good Person. The film is now playing in theaters, allowing fans to secure tickets to this emotional film. Fans can stream her songs on all major music platforms.
