Olivia Wilde, the director of the highly anticipated psychological thriller film, Don’t Worry Darling, shared more details about what fans can expect, and that includes new music from Harry Styles.

As we all anxiously await for September 23 to arrive, Olivia Wilde is busy celebrating her incredible cast. Don’t Worry Darling takes place in the 1950s in a utopian community called Victory, located in California. All men that live in Victory work for the secret Victory Project, where the corporation allows the people to live their best life. The Victory Project only asks one simple favor in return: remain loyal to the company.

According to the film’s synopsis, “The lead character, Alice (Florence Pugh), finds cracks in their enjoyable idyllic life. Beneath the alluring façade provided by the seemingly glamorous company, evil lurks. Alice begins questioning what exactly her husband and others are doing for the Victory Project and why.” The story focuses on the life of Alice and her husband, Jack (Harry Styles).

For those that watched the explosive trailer, Pugh (Black Widow) is heard humming a tune throughout. This tune Pugh carries on with is known as the film’s trigger song, with Styles penning the melody. Wilde recalls Styles’ musical genius, stating, “Harry called me and said, ‘What’s the trigger song? Like, what’s the melody?’ Wilde was unsure about what she was looking for but asked the singer if he had “anything in mind.“ After five minutes, he sent her a demo from his piano, and it ended up in the film.

Harry Styles is arguably one of the world’s biggest stars. He says of the writing process, “I wanted something that could be both sweet and creepy, entirely dependent on the context. I remember first playing it on the piano, and it had a sort of homemade nursery rhyme feel to it. Applied to the different moments in the film, I think it takes on a couple of different lives — I hope.” Although he will not be singing in the film, he will be dancing and blowing the audience away with his acting chops.

Don’t Worry Darling features a stellar supporting cast that includes Gemma Chan, Sydney Chandler, Kiki Layne, Chris Pine, and Douglas Smith. Wilde also has a role in the film.

Here at Glitter, we cannot be more excited for Don’t Worry Darling. Be sure to follow Olivia Wilde and the film’s official accounts on Instagram and Twitter for more film updates.
