Taylor Swift is Now the First Living Artist to Achieve This Record
On March 27, Billboard announced that Taylor Swift became the first living artist to simultaneously chart seven albums within the top 40.
On the chart, Swift holds the seven following spots:
- Midnights (2022) – No. 3

- Folklore (2020) – No. 14
- 1989 (2014) – No. 19
- Red (Taylor’s Version) (2021) – No. 22
- Reputation (2017) – No. 26

Since the Billboard 200 charts began, Swift is the first living artist- and second overall- to achieve this impressive feat. The first artist was the late Whitney Houston in 2012. Below the top 40, Swift also charted two more albums: Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (2021) at No. 52 and Speak Now (2010) at No. 69.
Many Swifties took to Twitter to celebrate this.

The singer/songwriter’s success is not surprising, given the success of her Eras Tour. On March 17, Swift kicked off her tour in Glendale, Arizona (renamed “Swift City” during her two-day stop there). For three hours, Swift performed over 40 songs from her decade-and-a-half-spanning discography. The tour received critical acclaim and immense adoration from the Swifties. The next day, Swift set another record for the best streaming day ever for an artist, accumulating over 67 million streams in one day.

The “Anti-Hero” singer also achieved several other impressive accomplishments this year. On March 7, iHeartRadio broke the news that Swift will receive their Innovator Award at this year’s ceremony, which will take place on March 27. This past February, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) declared the songstress their Global Recording Artist of the Year for the third time. At the most recent Grammy Awards, Swift received the Best Music Video Grammy for her “All Too Well” short film. This marked her 12th overall Grammy.
I can’t put into words what this means to me. For the @RecordingAcad and my peers to acknowledge me as a director, and in doing so, acknowledge my work to try and reclaim my music… I’m blown away. Thank you to all the fans who willed this to happen. https://t.co/nVoR1myP1f
