Jennie Kim Makes Her Met Gala Debut in Chanel
BLACKPINK’s Jennie Kim attends her first-ever Met Gala in a chic vintage, black-and-white Chanel minidress.
On May 1, the annual Met Gala celebrated the work of the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Titled “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” the event served to honor his long-spanning career in fashion and his undeniable impact in the industry.

Lagerfeld is best known for serving as the creative mind behind Chanel before his passing. During his time with the brand, he would deem some people as his “muses:” public figures in the fashion industry whose beauty inspired and represented his work. His last hand-picked muse is none other than BLACKPINK’s Jennie Kim. Despite the exclusive guest list, her relationship with the late designer made many anticipate her appearance at fashion’s biggest night out.
The multi-talented star did not disappoint, debuting in a vintage Chanel minidress. The Chanel team recreated the dress specifically for her, inspired by a dress from Lagerfeld’s 1990 fall/winter collection. The dress featured a white bustier and skirt, accented with a black ribbon tie and a white camellia at the waist. A matching white floral hair accessory, black ribbon choker, opera gloves, tights, and pumps finished off the look.
