Arlo Parks returns with her fourth single off her forthcoming studio album, My Soft Machine.

After announcing that her second record is on the way in January, British singer-songwriter Arlo Parks has released four singles: “Weightless,” “Impurities,” “Blades,” and “Pegasus” ft. Phoebe Bridgers. Her collaboration with Bridgers was produced by Paul Epworth, Brockhampton’s Romil Hemnani, and Baird.

The singer took to Instagram to marvel at Bridgers’ creative genius. She writes, “@phoebebridgers you are one of the most intelligent and generous creative forces we have, I have cried to Funeral on many floors, I have screamed sung along to Motion Sickness in the car on countless road trips, I have been in love with what you make since I was 17 years old.”

In a press release, the “Eugene” hitmaker discussed the message behind “Pegasus.” Parks reveals, “‘Pegasus’ is about experiencing the warmth and lightness of good love for the first time. She adds, “It also explores how the absence of chaos and the presence of real connection can be a little bit terrifying after a long time of not having it.”

In addition to the single, Parks also unveiled a stunning desert-set music video directed by Bedroom at Compulsory Film. The singer states, “The desert landscape has always had a special place in my heart, the scorched land, the dust, the sense of absence. Films like GerryMy Own Private Idaho, and Paris, Texas all use the desert as its own character representing isolation, nostalgia, and the journey to a place outside of yourself.”

It will not be long before we have a new album by the talented Arlo Parks. Her second studio album, My Soft Machine, arrives on May 26. The record will follow her Grammy-nominated debut, Collapsed in Sunbeams. In the meantime, fans can watch her film, Tonight With Arlo Parks: A Variety Hour Special, on YouTube.
