It is not a cruel summer for Taylor Swift. The artist just became the first female artist in history to reach 96 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Swift is the second most popular artist on Spotify. The Weeknd, who holds the first-place spot, has just over 106 monthly listeners as of July. She does, however, sit at number one in Spotify’s Weekly Top Artists Global chart.

This is not the only record Swift has broken in the week. Billboard reported on July 13 that the artist’s newest album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) just became the most-streamed album on Spotify in a single day so far in the year.

Speak Now was originally released in 2010. The album included fan-loved classics such as “Sparks Fly,” “Enchanted,” and “Back to December.”

The newest version, which was released on July 7, is the third of Swift’s re-recordings, an endeavor that followed after her catalog was purchased and sold in 2020. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) reached over 126 million streams on its first day alone.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is arguably a more improved version of the original album. Swift recorded her old hits with more mature vocals and added six “From the Vault” tracks. These new additions to the album feature collaborations with artists, such as Hayley Williams from Paramore.

The album broke another Spotify record as the most-streamed country album in a single day in Spotify history.

All of Swift’s albums, originals, and re-recorded discography, have surpassed one billion total streams on Spotify. Between these new records and her groundbreaking “The Eras Tour,” which is now scheduled to go around the globe, Swift’s “Cruel Summer” is turning out to be very successful indeed.
