The company is co-founded by former Capitol Records President Dan McCarroll. On Monday, the company announced the $225 million purchase deal, including Perry’s master recordings and publishing rights for her five albums released between 2008 and 2020. The albums include: “One Of The Boys,” “Teenage Dream,” “Prism,” “Witness,” and “Smile.”

The 2010’s superstar has slowly moved out of the spotlight over the years to focus on her marriage and raising a family with her partner, Orlando Bloom. As well as focusing on residencies in Las Vegas, philanthropic work, and engaging in various projects beyond music.

The sale of Perry’s music catalog can be beneficial for both parties in this case. The company, Litmus Music, is excited to demonstrate that they can hold Perry’s music in good standing. With her iconic, well known songs, it shows the team’s ability to partner with the world’s top artists. Not only is Katy Perry’s music a massive success, it has a significant impact on pop culture itself.
