Olivia Rodrigo hasn’t ruled out acting entirely. The “bad idea right?” singer spilled her GUTS about her desire to star in a coming-of-age film.

On Tuesday, Rodrigo attended the Governors Awards, where she wrote “Can’t Catch Me Now” for the Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. While at the event, she spoke with Variety, where she revealed how she would like to return to acting. “I would love to. I think that’d be really fun. I love movies; I love telling stories,” she stated. “I really want to do a coming-of-age thing, maybe before I’m actually of age.”

“Maybe I am of age already, I don’t know,” Rodrigo continued. “I just love telling stories, whether that be in a song or a movie, it’s just something that really excites me. The SOUR hitmaker will be 21 on February 20.

Rodrigo dipped her toes into the realm of acting at a very young age. When she was six years old, she started taking singing lessons and was encouraged to take acting classes.

“I kind of fell into the whole acting thing by accident. I first started out by singing, which is something I still love to do. My singing teacher thought I would enjoy acting because I loved to show emotion when I sang. She was right!” she shared with The Project For Women.

During that time, she went on to star in theater productions and plays. In 2015, she appeared in an Old Navy commercial. Then, the Grammy-winning artist landed her first professional role in the film An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success, starring as the title character, Grace Thomas. The following year, Rodiogo snagged the role of Paige Olvera in the Disney comedy Bizaardvark. Once the series ended, she starred in her breakout role as Nini Salazar-Roberts for the Disney+ drama High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

After three seasons, the “vampire” singer departed from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series to focus on her music career. However, she has teased a possible return to acting before. When her debut album, SOUR, was released, she told Billboard she didn’t want to be “pigeonholed” into one category.

“At first I was like, ‘I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to be pigeonholed,’” she stated. “I’m a songwriter who writes from a place of authenticity and truth. And truthfully, love and happiness, and everything weren’t feelings that I was feeling at the time. And what’s the point of putting out a record if it isn’t something that you feel is important to say to people?”
