Emma Stone to Star in New Yorgos Lanthimos Film
Following the success of the award-winning film Poor Things, Emma Stone announces her next collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos.
Awards season is upon us, and the box office hit Poor Things has swept the Golden Globes and racked up an outstanding eleven Academy Award nominations. What better time than now to announce a new film between its director and lead actress?
Mark Ruffalo had me laughing out loud through his entire performance. Perfect comedic energy with Emma Stone. The eclair scene was absolutely hilarious. His nomination is well deserved. #PoorThingsFilm https://t.co/q5VkdtcV6f

Although the new film, Kinds of Kindness, has no release date yet, Collider states, “production on the film wrapped over a year ago, it seems very likely that the film will be released in 2024.” Making this Lanthimos and Stone’s fourth partnership, as they have worked together on other award-winning films like The Favourite, Bleat, and Poor Things. “But it’s great to be working again with Emma,” Lanthimos mentions in an interview with The Guardian, “It makes it so much easier to have someone there who trusts you so much and who you trust so much.”

The film is described as an anthology or multiple-part series. In the same interview, Lanthimos characterizes Kinds of Kindness as a “contemporary film, set in the US – three different stories, with four or five actors who play one part in each story, so they all play three different parts. It was almost like making three films, really.”
Joining the star-studded cast, Stone will appear alongside Hunter Schafer, Willem Dafoe, Joe Alwyn, Margaret Qualley, Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, and Mamoudou Athie, to name a few. Fans are excited and have incredibly high hopes for Stone’s performance in the upcoming film.
In the meantime, Poor Things is available in theaters.
