Céline Dion, singer, songwriter, and absolute icon, made a rare public appearance and showed up at the Grammys this year despite health issues. She presented Taylor Swift with the Album of the Year award, and the internet does not think that Swift was as grateful as she should have been.

Dressed in Valentino’s Le Salon Spring 2024 couture collection, Dion looked stunning in a mustard mohair coat and silk pink wrap dress. Image architect Law Roach styled Dion’s look.

The pink dress has a plunged neckline and cinches at the waist. And with a thigh slit, this dress is amazing. Paired with a bob and diamond bracelet, earrings, and necklace from Tiffany & Co., the singer did not come to play.

Now let’s talk about Dion and Swift. The pop star made Grammy history as the first artist to be awarded Album of the Year four times. Her album, Midnights, was released in October 2022 and was the winning album this year.

But social media was not having it after the awkward on-stage interaction between the two after it appeared that Swift ignored Dion. A standing ovation from the audience followed Dion to the stage. The singer has been battling with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and spasms. So, it was a huge deal that she came to the event.

After she announced Midnights as the winner, Swift made her way onto the stage, took the gramophone statue, ignoring Dion in the process, and proceeded with her acceptance speech, which made no mention of Dion.

Many people also compared this interaction to the Miley Cyrus and Mariah Carey exchange that happened earlier. Carey presented Cyrus with her first Grammy for the song “Flowers,” which earned the Best Pop Solo Performance. Cyrus started her speech with, “This M.C. is going to stand by this M.C. for this because this is just too iconic.”

Céline Dion’s team later posted a picture of them together, in what people call “damage control.”

Whether or not this was a mistake, fans hope this interaction sends a message to simply acknowledge others.
