Kacey Musgraves Announces New Album Deeper Well
A new Kacey Musgraves era is coming. The “Rainbow” singer announced her fifth studio album, Deeper Well, will arrive on March 15.
Kacey Musgraves‘ first single to her upcoming record is the title track. She released an accompanying music video directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who is most notably known for her collaborations with Ariana Grande.
In a press release describing the track, she reveals, “Sometimes you reach a crossroads. Winds change direction. What you once felt drawn to doesn’t hold the same allure, you get blown off course, but eventually find your footing and forage for new inspiration, new insight, and deeper love somewhere else.”
Musgraves left her country roots in Nashville behind and traveled to New York, where Greenwich Village provided the perfect backdrop. She recounts to Zane Lowe, “I wasn’t putting too much pressure on myself to just, Oh, we have to write an album. I just was like, Let’s go up there and just see what starts falling out.” The result was Deeper Well.
She adds, “I think I was craving a bit of some softer songs. I didn’t even know what I wanted to do, but I knew that I wanted to get back to that organic wooden instrument place and just no punches pulled. If you keep digging, well, you might find something deeper to love about yourself.”
We await Kacey Musgraves’ return to the music scene. Deeper Well arrives on March 15. Fans can watch the visual below.
