Lizzy McAlpine has announced a date for her junior album. “Older”will be released in April.

This morning, musical artist Lizzy McAlpine took to social media to announce her third album, “Older,” along with the release of its lead single.

The folk-pop singer, who has collaborated with other artists such as Noah Kahan and former One Direction member Niall Horan, rose to fame through the success of her song “ceilings” which, according to the Recording Academy, “peaked at No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reached 230 million streams and climbing on Spotify, was certified Gold, and inspired a TikTok challenge resulting in over 742,000 posts featuring a sped-up version of the song.” The trend gained a lot of traction, featuring fans frolicking in different outfits to the song’s chorus and bringing the artist some well-deserved recognition.

Her post included a picture of her in the water, staring directly at the camera, along with a short note to her fans. McAlpine started, “this album took me three years to get right. i only got it right because me and mason and taylor and libro and sam and ted and richter and nuffer and jesse all sat in a room for 2 weeks and figured out how to get it right. then mason and taylor and jesse and i sat in that room for 2 more weeks and made sure that it was right. those few weeks were hard and fun and also the turning point for this record.”

She continues “the song “Older” specifically was the moment it all started to come together in my head. (more on that song later).”

She added that, “for now, i hope you know that i did not compromise. i was very stressed out the whole time but i think we got somewhere really cool in the end. making and promoting art feels very strange right now, but i hope you can find some comfort in what we’ve made. i love you.”

Clearly, a lot of time, effort, and energy have been put into this album, so it is no secret that fans are looking forward to hearing more of McAlpine’s vulnerable songwriting and hard-hitting lyrics.
