Timothée Chalamet Signs New Contract With Warner Bros.
After the success of Dune: Part Two and Wonka, Timothée Chalamet signed a contract with Warner Bros. to act and produce new films.
Chalamet and Warner Bros. have a long and fortunate relationship. His first big film role was in 2014 in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, distributed by Warner Bros. His multi-year contract with the company allows for more production opportunities for Chalamet while not restraining him from exclusivity.
With the contract, he will receive a salary increase, and Warner Bros. will have the first pick on potential projects he makes.

This contract doesn’t seem like a surprise if we look at the smash hit of his last two productions with Warner Bros. With Chalamet as the lead role in Wonka and Dune: Part Two, Warner Bros. made over a billion dollars at the global box office.
“Over the last few years, we have admired not only Timothée’s commitment to his craft, which is evident in the range and depth of his varied roles but also his unwavering dedication to giving 100% of his time and attention to every project he has made here at Warner Bros. and elsewhere,” the co-chair CEOs of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca, told Variety.
Also in 2014, Timothée had his first role in a comedy/thriller Men, Women & Children film led by Jennifer Garner and Adam Sandler. He had a small role, but he got the opportunity to showcase his abilities and his training.
Chalamet attended a well-known school for performing arts, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. He also briefly attended Columbia University and NYU before dropping out to pursue his acting career full-time.

“These are studio heads who believe in real movie making, and I’m so grateful for their support as an actor, producer and collaborator. This partnership feels like a natural next step. Let’s go!” Chalamet told Variety.
In the past, it was common for actors to have exclusive contracts with studios. But it is not something that we see much anymore. This contract can open doors for more relationships between other studios and actors. Mainly because the agreement between Warner Bros. and Chalamet doesn’t mean complete exclusivity, which was a driving force to the end of actor/studio contracts.

Furthermore, Chalamet’s breakthrough role in Call Me By Your Name won him a Best Actor nomination at the Oscars. The achievement made him the youngest actor to get the nomination in eighty years. Also, the movie was distributed by Warner Bros. in Italy.
Timothée Chalamet is working on an upcoming project, the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. Wonka can be streamed on Max.
