SZA Announces Reimagined SOS Deluxe Version and New Album Lana
SZA recently revealed that the deluxe version of SOS will include leaks and outtakes from the original LP, and Lana will be a separate album.
The original plan was for SOS deluxe to be titled Lana. However, after several leaks, the R&B singer separated them into different projects. “Lana deserves more time and music no one’s ever heard before,” she tweeted.

Since SOS dropped in December 2022, SZA has alluded to a deluxe version in its future. Although, the official announcement came on December 15, 2023. She shared a photo on her Instagram that closely resembled album cover art. The caption contained only one word: Lana. She later confirmed this post as the project’s official announcement.
Following the announcement, Lana was in flux. The tracklist constantly shifted, and the artist plans to start the project from scratch. In a since-deleted tweet, SZA revealed that three different songs from the album had been leaked. This prompted her to decide to split the project into two parts. Now, she can dedicate more time to making quality music for both LPs.
Lana will be SZA’s third studio album. Although fans don’t know much yet, she told the story behind it in an interview with Variety. Before her career, the artist went by her full name—Solana Imani Rowe. “It’s like a whole new project. It’s called Lana—my name—but it’s the first tattoo that I ever got when I was 13. It was 10 bucks a letter and I only had 40, so that that became my nickname for no reason,” she discussed.
