Universal in Orlando is set to open a new Universe with five lands next summer, including How To Train Your Dragon, and we just got a first look.

Next summer, Universal will be opening an entirely new theme park called “Epic Universe.” It will feature five new worlds with over 50 attractions. The lands include How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, and Dark Universe.

Universal has just revealed never-before-seen concept art for the How to Train Your Dragon world, including details about the park features, such as rides, live performances, characters, and restaurants. The land will take place in Berk, the village where How to Train Your Dragon is set. It will be a Viking village full of dragons and features that will make the land feel authentic to the films.

The theme park posted a video on their social media accounts displaying what it is like to fly over the land. Additionally, they showcased all the creative detailing that went into creating it and what parkgoers can expect on their trip.

The franchise consists of three films released over nine years ago, so many fans have been here for almost a decade and are thrilled to hear about this land.

Let’s get into some of the exciting features the park will have in store.

“The mythical land of Berk” will be brought to life in a variety of imaginative ways, including rides, meet and greet with the characters, restaurants selling food from the film, and more.

In a press release, Universal shared, “Guests visiting Berk will encounter one of the most breathtaking environments Universal has ever created – complete with immense architecture featuring hand-carved details, lush landscaping, and extraordinary heights of rolling hills surrounding vibrant dragon houses and local establishments.” They also talk about the sparkling lagoon in the middle of the park with two 40-foot-tall Viking statues and the endless activity from active dragons.

Fans are already expressing their excitement through social media. Many state that the next time they visit Universal, they will be spending all their time at the land.

If the design isn’t enough to entice you, four attractions are coming to the park.

“Hiccups Wing Gliders” is the first of the attractions, which will be a family coaster. The ride is a flying glider machine that makes guests feel like a dragon, as it overlooks a dragon’s view of the land. It will hit up to 45 miles per hour, making it great for children and people of all ages.

“Dragon Racer’s Rally” is the next ride, which will have aerobic maneuvers and fast barrel rolls for all Viking racers, reaching up to 67 feet in the air. According to Universal, guests can choose the speed they want – more on the mid or wild side.

“Fyre Drill” will revolve around two of the film’s characters, the sibling duo Ruffnut and Tuffnut. Guests will stand on dragon-headed boats in the lagoon, moving through the water as they blast water from cannons at targets and put out fires. Guests will compete for the highest score as well as try to soak the other teams.

“Viking Training Camp” is the last attraction and is a spacious interactive play area for kids filled with fun features. There will be a Viking agility course, a Toothless-themed teeter-totter, baby Gronckle dragon climbers, and many more.

There will also be a dragon rider live performance, “The Untrainable Dragon.” It will feature the characters Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber, and Astrid as they try to solve the mystery of the untrainable dragon.

Fans can also head to the “Haddock Paddock” to meet their favorite characters, Toothless and Hiccup.

Furthermore, do not forget to grab a bite at the variety of dining choices, such as the main dining hall, Mead Hall, which serves savory dishes. There are also two quick service stations, “Spit Fyre Grill” and “Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel.”

In addition, there are multiple shops where you can buy merchandise, like “Viking Traders,” “How to Treat Your Dragon,” “Hiccup’s Work Shop,” and “Toothless’ Treasures.”

Overall, it sounds like Epic Universe has a lot of fun surprises in store for the parks next year.
