Rachel Zegler has officially announced that she will portray Juliet Capulet in the newest Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet.

As of April 16, it is official that Rachel Zegler (West Side Story, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) will portray one-half of Verona’s star-crossed lovers in this year’s revival of Romeo And Juliet. The creators took the time to share the news on Instagram.

They captioned the post “Kit Connor is Romeo + Rachel Zegler is Juliet. On Broadway this fall. Sign up for early access when tickets go on sale this May. Link in bio.” Kit Connor (Heartstopper) will also make his appearance on Broadway as Romeo Montague.

Zegler is very excited, as this is her Broadway Debut. The actress has been a theatre kid for a long time, acting in high school shows such as Shrek and The Little Mermaid. She has been actively on X reposting photos from fans showing their support.

Perhaps one of the most exciting parts about this show is its musical aspect. The creators have recently confirmed that the one and only Jack Antonoff, known for his work with Bleachers, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, and Lorde will be working on the project. He has been active on social media as well, reposting things on X about his work on the show.

The show will officially make its Broadway debut in Fall of this year. It will be directed by Sam Gold and choreographed by Sonya Tayeh. Other than that, no other details have been released. If you’d like to sign up for early access for tickets, you can visit the show’s website here.
