Reneé Rapp Reveals New Music Is in Works
Your prayers have been answered, Reneé Rapp is officially working on new music.
Rapp released her debut album, Snow Angel, on August 18, 2023. The album contained 12 unique and evocative tracks, delving deep into themes such as growing up, anxiety, navigating relationships, and sexuality. It is packed with powerful ballads, but also upbeat pop songs.
Before becoming a rising pop star with an iconic internet presence, the performer was involved in both the worlds of musical theater and television. In 2018, Rapp was a recipient of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, commonly known as the Jimmy Awards. She is well known for starring as “It-Girl” Regina George in the Broadway musical Mean Girls. In addition, she portrayed Leighton Murray in Mindy Kaling’s MAX series, The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Ever since the release of her debut album, Rapp embarked on her “Snow Hard Feelings Tour” alongside musicians Towa Bird and Alexander 23. While the main leg of the tour has concluded, the singer will perform at festivals including Governor’s Ball in New York City, Lollapalooza in Chicago, and Austin City Limits.
Although it wasn’t on the Broadway stage, Rapp reprised her role as Regina George this past year. The artist starred in Samantha Jayne’s and Arturo Perez Jr.’s musical comedy rendition of the timeless 2004 drama Mean Girls which hit theaters this past January.
Recently, however, fans of the artist have been eagerly waiting for new music.

And, lucky for them, they now have some to look forward to.
In a vulnerable and eye-opening interview with Them Magazine, the “Tummy Hurts” singer-songwriter revealed that she is actively working on her next album. She told Them she has a title ready, but isn’t ready to share the project with the rest of the world, yet.
The outlet, however, hinted that we can expect her new work to draw influences from Towa Bird, who also happens to be Rapp’s girlfriend. In the interview, she mentioned, “Everything I do in a way gets run by Towa.”
