Williams is an infamous hitmaker through his diverse background as a singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer, with hits such as “Lemon” (N.E.R.D. with Rihanna), “Get Lucky” (with Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers), and “Frontin'” (with Jay-Z). He has also immersed himself in the fashion world as a designer of his brand partnership with Louis Vuitton, creating a new era for fashion innovation.

The first trailer of Piece by Piece was released on June 6, opening with the styles of Williams’ voice and other notable social figures such as Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Snoop Dogg. The film, directed by Oscar-winner Morgan Neville, allows fans and folks alike to venture into Williams’ creative mind and legacy as a unique innovator.

“Developed from his singular vision, Piece by Piece defies genres and expectations to transport audiences into a LEGO® world where anything is possible,” states LEGO on its website.

The collaboration between Williams and Neville sparked fans’ excitement as Williams mentioned his enthusiasm for the upcoming project: “When I had this crazy vision to tell this story through LEGO bricks, I couldn’t have imagined a better partner than [director] Morgan. He is a legend.”

Williams’ collaboration with legend Neville and LEGO doesn’t stop with film production. The “Happy” artist founded the film and T.V. production company i am OTHER. Its commitment to telling stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things is prevalent with its current project, Piece by Piece.

Williams expressed the great honor of contributing his work and upcoming project to the masses, “Building with LEGO bricks encourages us to follow our imagination…who would’ve thought that playing with these toys as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life,” William shares. “It’s proof that anyone else can do it too.”

Piece by Piece is in theaters on October 11.
