Netflix Releases Trailer For A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder
Netflix released the trailer for A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the latest adaptation of the best-selling mystery novel series written by Holly Jackson.

Fans are rejoicing over the announcement of the acclaimed novel, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, becoming a live-action adaptation. Ever since BBC first revealed its adaptation of the book series for television, fans have been eager to see who would bring Jackson’s teen sleuth, Pip Fitz-Amobi, to life. With Wednesday star Emma Myers portraying the young detective, we now have more updates surrounding the series’ Netflix debut.
First, Netflix has a page on its website with details surrounding the plot of the new series. While some die hard fans read the complete series and know every plot twist, new viewers who have never read the novel will enter the series with a fresh perspective.
“Five years after the murder of a 17-year-old girl in a sleepy English town, one student is determined to uncover the truth and find the real killer,” the website states. Netflix describes the new series as a crime thriller and mystery that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. While most of the main characters are teens, younger audiences may have a greater attachment to and understanding of Pip as she is still in high school. Netflix also describes the show as “intimate, dark, and emotional” which may have mature undertones.
Although the series will premiere early on BBC starting today, Netflix previously announced that it will also arrive on their platform later this year. Fast forward to the present day, the date is much earlier than expected; the series will start streaming on August 1. This announcement is huge for avid Netflix users, meaning they will not have to download another streaming app to access their latest summer binge.
Based on Jackson’s 2019 award-winning novel, the trailer released by Netflix showcases Pip exploring the murder of a local teen from several years ago. Even though the case was deemed closed, Pip feels the true suspect has not been brought to light, suspecting a darker motive with the true killer still on the loose.
