A24’s We Live In Time Releases Official Trailer

A24 has released the official trailer for We Live In Time, a decade-spanning romance starring Academy Award nominees Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.

First, film-watchers gravitate to We Live In Time because of the film’s two main stars: Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield. The pair are set to star in the film as Almut and Tobias, a couple who meet under rather unexpected conditions.

Every minute counts in A24‘s latest film, We Live In Time. From John Crowley, director of Brooklyn, the film explores a decade-spanning romance between two strangers, Almut and Tobias. Their love story is not your usual fairytale, but rather a chance encounter.

Almut accidentally hits Tobias with her car while driving on the highway. Later on, the trailer cuts to the pair talking while Tobias is in the hospital, with viewers feeling their magnetic chemistry through their screens. The characters also come from completely different backgrounds, with Tobias a recent divorcée, and Almut an up-and-coming chef.

Once the duo meets, they realize their bond is “love at first sight.” The pair continue to run into each other and explore the fueling romantic connection. The trailer cuts to different segments of their romance, even Almut taking a pregnancy test and realizing she is positive. In addition, Almut and Tobias are shown sitting across from their daughter, now a toddler, in a diner. The light-hearted jokes shown throughout the trailer add a light, airy feel to the duo’s romance until the unexpected happens.

Next, the trailer cuts to Almut holding her daughter as Tobias shaves her head, promising her everything will work out. As the trailer continues, Tobias and their daughter cheer on Almut as she competes in a cooking competition. Different moments spanning across multiple timeframes are showcased in the trailer, a symbol of the the past, present, and future.

“Every minute counts” is the main tagline of the film, and for good reason. Whether it is a friendship, relationship, or chance encounter, one small decision can change our lives forever. What we decide to create or live with that decision, though is what matters most. As Tobias and Almut navigate their love through time periods, we can only hope their love is everlasting and their bond stronger than before.
