J Balvin Announces New Album Rayo

The “Mi Gente” singer officially revealed that a new album is coming. Balvin’s latest work, Rayo, consists of 15 tracks and features major collaborations. The tracklist for the record is as follows:

- “En Alta” featuring Omar Courtz, Yovngchimi, Quevedo, Mambo Kingz, and DJ Luian
A press release describes the inspiration behind the record as an “earnest need for human connection that drove Balvin to create an album that feels more like a house party than a collection of songs,” according to Billboard. They state, “In this new album, he blends elements of reggeatón with electronic pop and dembow.”
One song from the album is already available for fans to listen to. The artist released “Polvo de tu Vida,” his collaboration with Chencho Corleone, on June 7.
The Colombian star also put out a music video for the track. The futuristic video depicts Balvin and Corleone sporting monochromatic looks, dancing in sci-fi settings, getting brain chips, and being tested on by scientists.
The announcement comes along with the release of another single from the new project. The music video for “Gaga,” which features Spanish artist Saiko, premieres today at 2 p.m. EST.
