J Balvin performed at Coachella this past weekend and captivated his audience with sci-fi visuals, rhythmic beats, and a surprise.

After a brief hiatus since 2022, the Colombian superstar returns to the stage with a bang, reminding everyone why he is the King of Colombian Reggaetón. Taking the stage at 8:30 P.M., Balvin immediately set the scene with a UFO hovering overhead, creating an otherworldly atmosphere for his performance.

He wore his hair styled in cornrows and donned a Vetements leather jacket decorated with alien-like patches. Later in the night, he changed into a sparkly stardust outfit, perfectly matching his theme.

The Medellín native opened with his signature hit “Mi Gente,” instantly hooking the audience with his magnetic presence and electrifying energy.

Not too long after, Jowel & Randy and De La Ghetto joined in on Balvin’s performance, blending old-school reggaetón with futuristic EDM beats. The trio excited the crowd with hits like “Colmillio” and “Dientes.”

However, the best part of Balvin’s set was Will Smith as the surprise guest. He delivered a nostalgic rendition of “Men In Black,” dressed as his iconic character from the film. Smith jumped on stage shouting “Coachella” and immediately began rapping the words to the song he wrote for the original 1997 film, in front of a giant alien head. Daughter Willow Smith also took the stage to perform her song, “Big Feelings,” with Balvin.

For many years, Smith has been a fan of the artist. In 2018, he posted a video on Instagram dancing and singing along to “X,” the hit single by Balvin and Nicky Jam. Additionally, Smith participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, collaborating on “Live It Up,” the official song of the World Cup.

Balvin’s stage presence and visuals were awe-inspiring during his set, with a mechanical space praying mantis adding to the sci-fi atmosphere.

Before closing out his set, the artist expressed gratitude to his fans, acknowledging the love and support that fueled his journey back to the stage. He shouted, “Y si el pueblo pide Reggaeton” and ended his set with “Qué Calor,” leaving the audience ecstatic and reaffirming his status as one of Latin music’s biggest stars.

Even though you might’ve missed out on his Coachella set, you can make your own concert at home with his music, available on all streaming platforms.
