Reinhart first battled acne at age 12, and despite trying numerous products, her skin issues always returned. After years of experimenting with buzzword-laden products, she realized her skincare cabinet was filled with pore-clogging ingredients that only delayed clear skin.

Determined to find a solution, Reinhart teamed up with CEO and co-founder Shelagh Wong to create Personal Day, a line designed to heal both the skin and the mind. “Creating Personal Day has been a dream come true,” Wong shares. “We wanted to create a product we would actually use ourselves.”

Personal Day targets the root cause of acne—clogged pores and bacteria—with a simple, effective three-step routine. The brand enlisted triple-board-certified dermatologist Dr. Mamina Turegano and celebrity esthetician Sarah Ford to develop the system.

The starter kit includes the big three products: Full Clarity Cleansing Powder, Doing the Work Salicylic Acne Treatment, and Dive Deep Mevalonic Moisturizer. These work together to gently exfoliate with BHAs like Salicylic Acid and AHAs like Lactic Acid, while Zinc Hyaluronate eliminates bacteria. “We test every product to ensure nothing in it can clog pores,” Wong explains.

In addition to its clean, simple ingredients, Personal Day is exclusive in its use of Mevalonic Acid. This superstar ingredient boosts the body’s ability to repair itself, promoting collagen and hyaluronic acid production to heal skin after breakouts. Mevalonic Acid is found in both the Dive Deep Mevalonic Moisturizer and Everybody Stay Calm Recovery Mask. “It works with Azelaic Acid to reduce inflammation, flatten pimples, and repair skin while preventing dryness,” Wong states.

While skincare is at the brand’s core, Personal Day also addresses the mental health impact of acne. Dr. Courtney Tracy, a licensed psychologist and clinical social worker, serves on the advisory board, guiding the brand’s efforts to support both skin and mental well-being. “A big part of our mission is to share Dr. Courtney’s expertise with our community,” mentions Wong. “Not everyone has access to world-class acne and mental health support, and Dr. Courtney has been instrumental in making that support accessible.” At the brand launch, Dr. Tracy co-hosted a fireside chat with Reinhart and Wong, offering advice on managing the mental health toll acne can take.

While celebrity skincare brands often spark a mixed bag of reactions, Reinhart’s hands-on involvement makes Personal Day stand out. “Lili is a true co-founder,” Wong assures. “She’s been involved in every step—everything from brainstorming packaging ideas to shooting photos herself and even selecting ingredients that worked for her acne.”

Since launching in October, Personal Day has amassed 20,000 social media followers, with customers praising the products for delivering rapid results. One user shared that their congestion bumps cleared in just two days, while another raved about no longer dealing with painful period pimples since switching to Personal Day.

With its thoughtful ingredients and holistic approach, Personal Day is slated to make a lasting impact on the skincare industry.
