Gracie Abrams, the rising indie-pop sensation, took the Saturday Night Live (SNL) stage over the weekend, marking a pivotal moment in her blossoming career.

The “Risk” singer has steadily gained recognition since the release of her newest project, The Secret of Us, and by opening at “The Eras Tour.” Tracks on the album have given the rising artist critical acclaim, continuing to expand her fanbase.

Her appearance on SNL, a cultural institution for launching artists to mainstream prominence, was a testament to her growing influence. Introduced by host Chris Rock, Abrams performed her biggest hits from The Secret of Us and the album’s deluxe version, including “I Love You I’m Sorry” and “That’s So True.”

The new notes in songs like “That’s So True” sent fans into a frenzy. Following her performance, she trended on platforms like X and TikTok, with fans and first-time listeners expressing admiration for her artistry. Clips of her performances quickly gained significant views, with comments applauding her vocals and ability to convey profound emotions through music.

On the opportunity to perform at SNL, the singer asserted, “It feels so clear how passionate the people who get to be in this studio are about their performances and about the opportunity to do something so iconic. I cannot believe I get to stand here and do this.”

The “21” performer may have started as a small indie-pop artist; however, her journey to the SNL stage and other accomplishments this past year signify her transition to something much larger. She is now known as a defining voice of her generation.
