Chicken Shop Date Amelia Dimoldenberg Returns to This Year’s Oscars
Chicken Shop Date’s Amelia Dimoldenberg announces her return as the Official Social Media Ambassador and Red Carpet Correspondent for this year’s Oscars airing on March 2.
Dimoldenberg has charmed viewers and celebrities with her unique personality and awkward and deadpan humor in her viral series, Chicken Shop Date. One commenter wrote, “You flirt in a decaf manner, sums up the entire show perfectly.”
The series has had celebrities such as Billie Eilish, Daniel Kaluuya, Cher, and Keke Palmer. It has amassed 2.83 million subscribers and won a Streamy Award for Best Indie Series in 2021.
The Academy announced, “We are thrilled to welcome back Amelia as our Social Media Ambassador and Red Carpet Correspondent to provide viewers with exclusive access to the Oscars,” stated Academy Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Jennifer Davidson. “Amelia’s widespread appeal and unique approach resonated with global audiences, and we are looking forward to her affable and engaging perspective on the Oscars experience.”
The announcement makes sense considering the outpouring of love fans had in reaction to her first Oscars attendance last year. A fan stated in response to her interviews for the 2024 Oscars, “This is the journalism we need!! Ask the weird questions, dance and sing with the stars, make actual friendships. So wholesome.”
Fans have since left excited comments on The Academy’s Instagram announcement post. Commenters have congratulated her success and mentioned the celebrities they’re most excited for her to interview, such as Andrew Garfield and Fernanda Torres.
One replied, “We all love you and are so supportive of this incredible achievement, but we also all need an interview with Andrew; otherwise we’re not gonna be satisfied. I said what I said.” The comment alludes to the Chicken Shop Date’s Andrew Garfield episode released in October, which has gained 10 million views since its release.
Dimoldenberg expressed her enthusiasm about coming back to the Oscars, simply commenting, “Hyped.”
You can catch Dimoldenberg’s interviews at this year’s Oscars by tuning in to ABC or Hulu on Sunday, March 2, at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.
