Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Announce New Album I Said I Love You First
Selena Gomez is releasing a long-awaited new album, but this one is a special collaboration with her fiancé, Benny Blanco.
Gomez and Blanco announced their collaborative album I Said I Love You First, releasing March 21.
The couple took to social media to share the news with their fans, posting photos from the album shoot.
“I always trick you guys. My NEW album I Said I Love You First with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21,” she wrote. “We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon!”
Their first single off the album, “Scared of Loving You” was released alongside the announcement. The couple wrote the song together along with 8-time Grammy winner Finneas—a lyric video for the single followed shortly after.
The Rare Beauty founder’s last full-length album, Rare, came out in 2020. The album landed the singer her first number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Lose You to Love Me.” She also released a Spanish-language EP in 2021, titled Revelación.
This is far from the first time the two have collaborated on music. They co-produced two of Gomez’s most popular songs off of her 2015 album Revival: “Same Old Love” and “Kill Em with Kindness.” Their most recent collaboration was her 2023 single, “Single Soon.”
Last January, the Only Murders in the Building star told the SmartLess podcast about the possibility of working on a new album.
“I do feel like I have one more album in me but I would probably choose acting,” she stated. “I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else.”
The producer then teased fans with a short TikTok last month where Gomez was sitting on a couch with a microphone and headset. The video was posted in response to a comment begging, “Benny please make some new songs for our queen.”

The couple began dating in June 2023. In December 2024, they announced their engagement on Instagram with a carousel of photos.
Blanco has worked with several popular artists throughout his career, including Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Britney Spears, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Charlie Puth, Katy Perry, Wiz Khalifa, SZA, Kesha, Justin Bieber, and many more. His work earned him 11 Grammy nominations so far.
