Castmates Honor the Life and Legacy of Michelle Trachtenberg

Actress Michelle Trachtenberg passed away Wednesday, February 26, and after the devastating news broke, castmates across numerous series and films took to social media to share stories, condolences, and grief.

The actress, best known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ice Princess, and Gossip Girl, passed away at the age of 39 due to complications from a recent liver transplant, as reported by the NYPD.

Her former castmates now honor her life and legacy.

Ice Princess co-star Kim Cattrall simply wrote, “Rest in peace sweet Michelle.”

Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford called the actress “one of a kind,” reflecting on her personality, he stated, “She was a force of nature and just so so unapologetically funny and magnetic.. remembering those years with a big smile. Just a terrible loss. Love you.”

Blake Lively posted an Instagram story reminiscing about the first day they met. She recalled the caramel lip gloss she wore and her effort to create a “nice experience,” for everyone in her vicinity. The Blake Brown founder wrote she was “kind, through and through,” and urges others to give people their flowers while they’re still here.

Taylor Momsen penned a touching caption stating, “When I met this girl 17 years ago I knew we’d be friends..she was smart and sassy, bold and sensitive, funny as f*** and filled with fire…I love you so much Michelle, my heart is on the floor. I’m still in shock but I needed to honor her, she deserves more than this. I grieve with all her fans around the world, and my heart is with her family and loved ones. I have so much to say, but she’s the only one I’d want to say it to, my love to you all.”

Fellow Buffy actress Alyson Hannigan wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the news of Michelle’s passing. She brought a loving energy to the set of Buffy. My thoughts are with Michelle’s family and friends.”
