Jason Biggs Shares on New Wellness Journey
Jason Biggs is focusing on his wellness journey after struggling with health issues and poor eating habits for many years.
Trigger warning below discusses alcoholism and substance abuse.
The American Pie actor stated those factors prompted him to lose 35 pounds. “I had some cholesterol issues,” he told Page Six in an interview on April 22. “Probably because of the ice cream pints I would knock back.”

The 46-year-old cited that managing his cholesterol and weight took a long time. However, he accomplished these goals by changing his diet and exercise routine. “It’s been a journey,” Biggs continued. “My cholesterol [went] down 70 points.”
Now that he is sporting a new physique, being open about his health is nothing new. The Orange is the New Black actor reflected on his struggle with alcoholism last year.
“I’m going to therapy and ‘working on things,’ but meanwhile, I’m leaving therapy, having just had a good session, and I’m going to the liquor store buying a fifth of vodka, drinking it, and driving home,” Biggs shared on a March 2024 episode of the All the Fails podcast. “I knew how to get wasted enough to where I took myself out of the life equation, took myself out of the present, didn’t have to connect in a way that made me feel things.”
He now celebrates being over seven years sober, and in his first year of sobriety, he sent out a vulnerable message of encouragement to his followers. “I first tried to get sober over five years ago, when the weight of my obsession with booze and drugs became too heavy for me to handle,” the American Reunion actor wrote in a 2018 Instagram post. “Turns out this s**t is hard.”
He continued, “After some fits and starts, I’ve managed to put together one year of sobriety. I’m as proud of it as anything in my life. If you’re struggling, know there’s help. Don’t be ashamed; we can do this.”
