Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, and Tucker Pillsbury to Star in New Rom-Com Good Sex
Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, and Tucker Pillsbury, better known as singer-songwriter Role Model, will star in Lena Dunham’s new Netflix rom-com Good Sex.
The official synopsis reads, “After spending a decade in a failed relationship, pragmatic couples’ therapist Ally (Portman) is turning 40 and reluctantly dipping her toe back into the New York dating scene. But she gets more than she bargained for when she meets two men — one in his twenties (Pillsbury) and one in his fifties (Ruffalo) — who show her there is no set formula for good sex.”
Rashida Jones and Meg Ryan join the already impressive cast. Jones will play Portman’s raunchy and recently divorced best friend, and Ryan will play her free-spirited therapist and mentor.
Portman and Sophie Mas will produce with their production company MountainA, alongside Dunham and Michael Cohen with their company Good Thing Going Productions. Tim Bevan and Michael Sledd will executive produce, along with Michaela Celella for MountainA.
Recently, Portman starred in the AppleTV+ series Lady in the Lake and the Netflix drama May December. Ruffalo’s Mickey 17, which was directed by Bong Joon Ho, known for Parasite, premiered a few months ago. Additionally, he was nominated for an Oscar for his work in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things. On the other hand, Tucker Pillsbury is wrapping up his tour for his Kansas Anymore album, which has earned him a level of fame he had never experienced before. Good Sex will be his acting debut.
