BillBoard Names Selena Gomez ‘Woman of the Year’
A title could not have been given to a more hardworking person.
Singer, songwriter, and actress Selena Gomez was named Billboard Magazine’s “Woman of the Year” for 2017. The chart-leader will be presented with the award November 30th at the annual “Women in Music dinner and Awards Gala” which will be held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles.
She will be placed among fellow winners like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Fergie as she’s anticipated to present a moving speech like these amazing women have before her.
All of her albums have surpassed the top 10 charts for Billboard which included songs like “Can’t Keep My Hands to Myself,” “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” and “Same Old Love.” Her latest single “Wolves” featuring Marshmellow is sitting pretty at the top of the charts currently where she will perform the hit live for the first time at the American Music Awards on November 19th. Congratulations to Selena!
My name is Kelsey Comeaux, I’m currently a Senior at McNeese State University, majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in New Media. I’ve always had an interest in creative media arts as well as music (four years private piano lessons) and slightly self taught acoustic guitarist ;) I remember making movies on my dad’s “Windows Movie Maker” growing up and showing them to my friends and family. Building on emotion and presenting an important message through my projects was such a fulfilling experience. I hope to do that on a wider base one day.
Other than that, I love sports and am naturally a competitive spirit. I love to go running for fun, as weird as that sounds; it’s such a great release for me during stressful times. I also enjoy writing, short fiction is my expertise, as well as reading various novels mostly consisting of Science Fiction and Romance. Anything dealing with an adrenaline rush involving the outdoors I’m game for. I’m here to explore, love wildly, feel passionately, and have diligence deriving from the soul.
