Historic Win for Sterling K. Brown at Golden Globe Awards
The This is Us star made history last night for his award in the category for Best Actor in a TV Series-Drama.
Since the Golden Globes’ inception in 1944, no black actor has ever won an award in this category. Until now.

In his speech, the actor thanked his family as well as every person who was apart of his journey toward this memorable win. One person he specifically addressed was Dan Fogelman, saying, “You wrote a role for a black man, that can only be played by a black man. And so, what I appreciate so much about this thing is that I’m being seen for who I am and being appreciated for who I am. And it makes it that much more difficult to dismiss me or dismiss anybody who looks like me.”
The actor’s upcoming projects include Hotel Artemis, Black Panther, and The Predator. We can’t wait to see what he brings in these roles.
