‘Supergirl’ Star Melissa Benoist Speaks About Former Producer Andrew Kreisberg’s Sexual Allegations
At the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, Benoist spoke on the allegations and its effect on the set of Supergirl. The actress, who plays Supergirl, states that the situation “was a major disappointment, and the irony was not lost on me.” She speaks of the female leadership on set and that the atmosphere is one that she is “extremely proud of.”
The former executive producer was initially suspended before being fired and removed from all shows. Kreisberg was also the executive producer of The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
When the allegations first came to light, Benoist reacted on Twitter, writing that she is a “woman who leads a show that supports equality and feminism.” She stated that the news was “heartbreaking” but that she was “an optimist.”
