On How to Get Away with Murder, the actress stars as the high-powered attorney, Annalise Keating. It is a female role that is complicated, yet empowering.
Davis began to discuss statistics about sexual assault, including that likelihood of rape or assault is higher for women of color. She also brought focus on the victims of sex trafficking faced, noting its main targets are in women coming out of the foster system and those in poverty.
The actress acknowledged her own status as “Me Too,” but when she speaks and “when I raise my hand, I am aware of all the women who are still in silence.”
